Interfacing with the Catalog
On our website, we create pages for students that surface the most relevant recommended databases to which we subscribe. This is done dynamically, through the use of a custom Drupal module written by our web developer. The module pulls information from our catalog twice a day to ensure that we reflect the most up-to-date record information for our users, and uses this information to update the pages on our website which refer to these databases. This allows our Electronic Resources Librarians to edit database information in only one place—the catalog—and see their changes reflected all across the site!
This module was written specifically for Drexel Libraries’ instance of III. There are no plans at this time to release it on Drupal.org. If you would like to use this module on your library’s website, please contact Katherine Lynch to learn more.
