About My Personal Library
My Personal Library is a collection of applications available through the Libraries website for Undergraduate and Graduate Students at Drexel University. Once logged in, students are taken to a dashboard interface, which shows a list of resources including databases, research guides, blogs, and more, related to their majors, specifically recommended by subject librarians, whose contact information is also delivered for research consultation.
Students’ Library Account information, including items checked out, accrued fines, and upcoming due dates, are displayed through the dashboard. From here, students can renew materials and also access an itemized report of any fines they owe.
The dashboard has native bookmarking functionality built-in, with a small panel for bookmarks in the dashboard, and an expanded interface available through the My Personal Library application. While logged into the application, a discreet toolbar appears at the top of each page within the website. Features on this toolbar allow students to add any page to their favorites, as well as search the catalog, articles, or website from anywhere.
My Personal Library is a Drupal-based application. It runs on Drupal 6.x, with a combination of freely available and custom modules which are designed with Drexel Libraries in mind. There are no plans at this time to release our custom modules for this application on Drupal.org. Please contact Katherine Lynch if you would like to learn more about using these modules for your library.
