American Society for Information Science, Delaware Valley Chapter, records
1964-1971
MC 7, 1 cubic foot
The American Society for Information Science (ASIS) was founded as the American Documentation Institute (ADI) in 1937. The Delaware Valley Chapter, founded in 1957 or shortly thereafter, was one of the first chapters formed as part of ADI's effort to expand into a nationwide professional organization. Records in this collection include correspondence; executive committee meeting minutes; membership and officer lists; copies of newsletters from the Delaware Valley chapter, the national association, and other chapters; files on the chapter's committees, all dated 1967; and files on the information retrieval colloquium that the chapter sponsored in 1969.
This collection is partially processed. A preliminary inventory is available in the archives; contact the archivist at archives@drexel.edu for more information.
