Faculty donating papers and/or research materials

Collections of faculty papers will be listed as part of our manuscript collections.  Published works, including monographs and articles, will be included with the faculty authors collection.  Please visit our collections page for the organizational structure of the Drexel University Archives.

The following types of material are being sought by the archives:

  • Teaching materials, including lecture notes, course syllabi, assignments, lab manuals, etc.
  • One copy of reprints, publications, and technical reports
  • Final drafts of unpublished work, speeches, and presentations
  • Diaries, memoirs, or journals related to personal or professional activities
  • Research materials and notes that are legible and well organized
  • Photographs of professors, colleagues, staff, and general views of campus life and activities
  • Correspondence and other documents related to professional or research organizations

Please note:

  • Materials can be submitted as electronic files.  For assistance in archiving and preserving electronic files, please contact archives@drexel.edu.
  • Photographs can only be accepted if properly identified.
  • The University Archives does not accept three-dimensional objects (i.e., lab equipment, models, etc.).
  • Questions about donating personal research libraries should be directed to the Head of Information Services, at 215-895-2751 or Elizabeth.TenHave@drexel.edu.

The Drexel University Archives also maintains the Drexel E-Repository and Archives (iDEA) to preserve and make accesible electronic versions of scholarly work produced by the Drexel University community.  Please direct questions about DSpace to the university archivist.

Note on restricting access to records: The Drexel University Archives and Special Collections discourages unreasonable restrictions on access and use of material but may accept as a condition of acquisition clearly stated restrictions of limited duration and may occasionally suggest such restrictions to protect privacy.  The university archivist performs their responsibilities in accordance with statutory authorizations and institutional policies.  If you have material that you believe contains sensitive information please discuss options regarding the restriction of records with the university archivist before transferring the material to the archives.
