Our good friends at Thomson ISI have given us a new “analysis tool”. When you do an author search in Web of Science, you will notice in the box along the right-hand side a new function “Citation Report”. When you select this function you will see plots and a detail report of the publishing and citation history of the author. AND TA DA! it will calculate the H-index of the author (a calculation of the productivity of the author).
Go ahead, I know you’re curious: http://www.library.drexel.edu/cgi-bin/r.cgi?url=http://isi01.isiknowledge.com/portal.cgi?DestApp=WOS&Func=Frame
Ahhh, the things we can analyse now…
Great News! The multiple database set collectively called Biological Sciences from Cambrige Scientific Abstracts is back. Due to some additional funding for resources, we are able to reinstate this resource to our databases. This interdisciplinary database offers abstracts and citations to a wide range of research in biomedicine, biotechnology, zoology and ecology, and some aspects of agriculture and veterinary science. Supporting over two dozen areas of expertise, this CSA database provides access to literature from over 6000 serials, as well as conference proceedings, technical reports, monographs and selected books and patents.
Biological Sciences can be found under the subject heading “Biological Sciences” as well as the alphabetical listing of databases.
GOOD NEWS!
Effective this week we have been able to add additional simultaneous users to access Food Science and Technology Abstracts. Now, up to 4 simultaneous users can access FSTA at the same time, which, of course, is what simultaneous means…
Happy food science and nutrition hunting! YEAH!
