International Job Search Workshop!

The Steinbright Career Development Center will host a workshop on International Job Search Resources on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 from 12 to 1 PM in room L13C at Hagerty Library (33rd and Market Streets).

This workshop will provide an overview of resources available in the library for job seekers. Attendees will learn how to use electronic databases to generate lists of potential overseas employers. The workshop is open to all Drexel students and alumni.

PAID summer internships- and they’re green, too!

Green Business Internship (BioMost, Inc.)

BioMost, Inc. is a for-profit company located in Butler County.  BMI was incorporated in 1998 to develop, implement, and maintain environmentally-friendly systems to treat abandoned coal mine drainage in an effort to restore the 4,000 miles of streams in Pennsylvania seriously impacted by mine drainage.    BioMost’s summer intern will work to identify using recovered material as a component in “green” building materials, identify the demand for existing commercial manganese oxides used by local brick manufacturers and manufacturers, assist in field sampling of material for laboratory and in-house testing, and compile manufacturers’ test results of recovered manganese material.

Green Products Internship (Ductmate)
Ductmate Industries Inc. is the largest heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) accessories manufacturer in North America. Ductmate’s Green Products Intern will aid the Manufacturing Engineering and New Product Development Manager at their manufacturing site in an effort to consistently improve our product lines of HVAC accessory systems.  The intern will be responsible for performance testing of new and existing products to improve energy efficiency and/or indoor air quality, will review process improvements to reduce waste, and will aids in the oversight of projects, processes, and data and analysis as well as in planning documentation systems.

Product Sustainability Internship (CENTRIA)

CENTRIA is a leading manufacturer of building envelope systems, and has a keen interest in innovating, manufacturing and marketing wall and roof systems that provide numerous green advantages.  CENTRIA’s summer intern will assist the Product Design and Marketing groups with several sustainability-related projects, including gaining hands-on experience with various aspects of green product listings and certifications, including Energy Star, Cool Roof Rating Council, Cradle to Cradle, and LEED.
