I just got the announcement from the Royal Society of Chemistry on their acquisition of ChemSpider, a free online resouce based on structure searching, which was blogged earlier on DrexelChemistry. For more information on the acquisition go to: RSC acquires ChemSpider
For information on ChemSpider go to: http://www.chemspider.com/
I just hope that this resouce STAYS free!
The 89th edition of the Handbook of Chemistry and Physics (online) has some new features. Now you can do structure searching in this venerable resource using ChemAxon’s structure drawing applet MarvinSketch. The tables are “interactive” meaning you can sort the columns and export sections to excel worksheets.
New Tables! - Energy Content of Fuels
- Global Warming Potential of Greenhouse Gases
- Weather-Related Scales
- Index of Refraction of Gases
- Molecular Internal Rotation
- Atomic Radii of Elements
- Composition and Properties of Various Natural Oils and Fats
- Melting Curve of Mercury
- Properties of Gas Clathrate Hydrates
- Enthalpy of Hydration of Gases
- Properties of Graphite and Nanotubes
| Note additional data in HCP:- Abbreviations and Symbols
- Conversion Factors
- Definitions of Scientific Terms
- Interstellar Molecules
- Satellites of the Planets
- Structures of Common Amino Acids
- Synonym Index of Organic Compound
- Table of the Isotopes
