Math Genealogy

Yes, now you can trace your “mathematics” ancestors. The Mathematics Genealogy Project comes out of the Math Department of the North Dakota State University. Enter your advisor’s name to see a list of his or her’s students along with his or her’s advisor. Click on the advisor and see his or her’s advisor and so forth. In most of the entries you will see a link to MathSciNet that will list all the publications by that person. It also lists the number of “decendents” through each student. Trace your mathematical heritage!

You can also enter a school and year to see the math PhD’s granted at that place and time.

Check out the Mathematics Genealogy Project at: http://genealogy.math.ndsu.nodak.edu/index.html
