== Science Direct Printing Problem ==
During the ScienceDirect Redesign, the PDF Address URL was extended from under 261 to (in most cases) 266 characters. This has unexpectedly created a conflict with Acrobat Reader 7 or greater. The error “Could not start print job” is an Adobe Acrobat-generated error which occurs when printing a PDF in which the URL address is longer than 261 characters, from your browser. Science Direct will implement a fix which will shorten the length of the URL to one manageable by Adobe Acrobat by the end of October, 2006.
“In the meantime, print by first saving the PDF to your computer, and then opening printing the PDF document.”
I just heard about a new blog that is getting a lot of “buzz”. The n-Category Café, will focus on that heady interface between Physics, Mathematics and Philosophy.
Due to the use of MathML to display math equations and symbols, a plug-in MathPlayer is required (downloadable from http://www.dessci.com/en/products/mathplayer/)
Welcome to John Baez, David Corfield and Urs Schreiber.
Just heard from the good folks at IOP about a new feature Eprintweb. Eprintweb.org was developed in cooperation with, and with the full support of, the arXiv.org advisory committee and Cornell University Library. Though Eprintweb.org uses content from arXiv, you will find that it’s different because it focuses on improving the users’ experience by addressing navigation, searching, personalization and presentation. They have also introduced reference linking across all content, and enhanced searching on all key fields including institutional address.
And you can create email alerts.
