What is ResearcherID? How can I register for it?

Researcher ID is a global, multi-disciplinary scholarly research community. Each researcher listed is assigned a unique identifier, to aid in solving the common problem of author misidentification. Search the registry to find citations, collaborators, and more.

ResearcherID registration is available to all ISI Web of Knowledge users. The registration link is on the right-hand side of Web of Knowledge homepage. Users will need to be signed in to before egistering with ResearcherID, and should use the same email address and password for both resources.
See video instruction clip: How to register, create your own Researcher ID, and build a publication list in ResearcherID.

Some interesting features of Researcher ID:

A Citing Articles Network depicts who is citing your articles. An interactive world map shows the top geographic locations. And a graphical display shows your top citations by author, category, country/territory, institution or year.

A Collaboration Network displays your collaboration associates. An interactive world map shows the top geographic locations. And a graphical display shows your top collaborators by author, category, country/territory, institution or year.

A Badge feature that allows you or others to place an interactive badge on any web page. When moving the cursor over the badge, a window will display a summary of your profile and recent publications — enabling you to elevate your professional profile overall by promoting your ResearcherID environment and highlighting your scholarly works.

New library material matching your Preferred Searches

“Drexel University libraries have recently added material to its collection that may be of interest to you based on your preferred search settings. You may view and request the material via the link(s) below.” You will be able to keep up-to-date with new books received in the library once you create your alerts based on your search keywords. That’s the default text of the weekly email YOU TOO can receive. Turn on this feature under the link for “Check My Library Record” in the purple section of the Library website’s front page.

Steps for creating a “Preferred search” alert of new books at Drexel University Libraries

1.) Click the link for “Check My Library Record” featured in the purple section of the Library website’s front page. (continued)

2.) Log in using your DrexelOne ID/ pw

3.) Click on the “Search Catalog” button – you are now ready to search the Library Catalog, but as a logged-in user (You’ll know you are logged in because you will see your name at the top of the regular catalog search screen.)

4.) Enter your search keywords. Click on “Search”. See the results? If you like them hit the grey “Save Your Search” button to the right of the search terms you entered at the top of the page. Then hit the big blue button at the very top to “Return to My Record.”

5.)Return to “My Record”. Click on “Preferred Searches” along the bottom of the page, accompanied by two checkboxes. Click the checkbox in the column titled “Mark for Email” to have a weekly update sent to you of anything new added to the catalog for the previous week. Similarly, you may click the checkbox in the column titled “Mark to Remove” to delete a search. Click on “Update List” button to activate your changes.

6.) Be the first one in your dorm to read that latest best-seller!

Keep an eye on that “Check My Library Record” feature – we’re adding more personalized services soon!
