How do I subscribe to RSS feeds from IEEE Xplore?
Browse IEEE journals to view a publication’s home page or go to Tables of Contents Alerts. Feeds are available individually from each journal’s main page in IEEE Xplore.
To see one example, visit the Proceedings of the IEEE main page. Click on ‘RSS’ icon and copy and paste the XML URL into your RSS reader, or to a browser that supports RSS feeds. Each feed will contain the publication’s title and table of contents with a link to IEEE Xplore.
How do I receive regular email notification of recently posted journals, magazines or standards?
You can also sign up to recieve regular email notification of recently posted journals, magazines, conferences, and standards using the Alerts feature.
PubMed offers RSS 2.0 (Really Simple Syndication) feeds of updated content available in the database. An RSS reader is required to use this service on your computer and retrieve new items from PubMed. There are numerous RSS readers from which to choose and many are available to download free from the Web. Try web based feed readers such as Google Reader or Bloglines to subscribe to feeds of updated content from PubMed or any other databases that provide RSS feeds option.

To set up an RSS feed:
(1) Run your search in PubMed.
(2) Select RSS Feed from the Send to menu.
(3) Click Create Feed and copy the XML icon into your RSS Reader
According to wikipedia article, “A tag is a non-hierarchical keyword or term assigned to a piece of information (such as an internet bookmark, digital image, or computer file). This kind of metadata helps describes an item and allows it to be found again by browsing or searching.”

What is RefWorks and why would I want to use it?
RefWorks is a web-based software application that helps you manage citations. It helps you keep track of the sources you are using for your research and your own notes about the sources. It is web-based (no special software installation, downloads, or plug-ins required). It will also create bibliographies for you in the format you specify (APA, IEEE, etc.).

How do I set up RSS feeds in Refworks?
After you logon to your Refworks account, click on RSS Feed under ‘Search’ Tab. Enter the ‘RSS Feed URL’ in the search box and click on ‘Add RSS Feed’ button.
More tips: In your Refworks account, bring your cursor to ‘Help’ tab. Select ‘Tutorials’ and then click on ‘Refworks Advanced’. Go to ‘Importing from RSS feeds’ section of this virtual tutorial.
