There are numerous blogs and RSS feeds available from a variety of scientific databases, electronic journals and electronic books still not well-utilized by many academic libraries supporting scientific disciplines. Read the full article at ‘Using RSS to increase user awareness of e-resources in academic libraries’. See also Other Higheredblogcon’s presentations on Library and Information Resources. LISNews entry ‘Blogosphere: channel for scholarly communication?’ points out “those involved in the process of scholarly communication would do well to consider such options as blogs and open access for sharing their work: to maximize readership and impact.”
