Dr. Richard Cairncross, Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at Drexel University, is currently in El Salvador on a Fulbright Lectureship. He will be teaching a course on Renewable Energy at the University of El Salvador. He has created this blog called Sustainability and Renewable Energy In El Salvador: A Blog of Experiences on a Fulbright Lectureship in El Salvador to showcase and highlight his experiences there.

The University Library Service is making a significant contribution to the sustainability aspirations of INSRV and the University. Summer 2009 saw a range of enhancements to several library buildings and the creation of effective learning spaces. More efficient working processes have also been introduced.

Visiting US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has said she hopes India and the US can devise a new plan to deal with the issue of climate change.
“After visiting a specially designed “green building” of a hotel chain in Delhi, Mrs Clinton said: “I am very confident the United States and India can devise a plan that will dramatically change the way we produce, consume and conserve energy and in the process spark an explosion of new investment and millions of jobs.”
