Click on “Create an Account” on the top right
Complete the registration form, create your username and password and click “Submit”.
You’ll then be able to use that username and password at http://mobile.mdconsult.com.
If you have trouble creating an MDConsult username/password on site, please contact Hahnemann Library (215-762-7184) or Queen Lane Library (215-991-8740).
If you encounter technical problems with mobile access, please contact Joe Posimo, J.Posimo@elsevier.com.
. . . cell phones, flashdrives, notebooks, flashdrives, coffee cups, glasses — even a pair of socks!
These are some of the things that have been turned in at the Hahnemann Library circulation desk and are waiting for their owners to claim them. If you’ve misplaced something recently, check at the circulation desk or at the Computer Lab help desk on the first floor.
A note about flashdrives: on average, we collect 4 or 5 a day. Put a simple text file on your flashdrive with your name, email address, etc. so we can contact you if we find it.
To all of our returning students! Those who were with us through the summer saw that there were a lot of changes going on. To catch everyone up on what’s new:
- Some space on the 1st floor has been repurposed to create new classrooms; the DVD players and other AV equipment that used to live in those rooms can now be requested for use in 2nd floor study rooms.
- The IRT help office have moved from the Library to room 1113 in the 1st floor corridor near the Student Life and Financial Aid offices; they’re still providing their some excellent level of service for those who need help configuring laptops to use the Dragonfly wireless network.
- As you can see, we’ve had a refresh of our homepage. All of your favorites are still right there are on the homepage — a useful new addition is the “My Accounts” section that gives one-click access to log in to your ILLiad, E-ZBorrow or library circulation accounts.
- New computers are being installed in the Library Classroom on the 1st floor — more, better, faster!
- The new smiling face at the second floor Circulation Desk is I-school student Gina Cacace, our new Circulation Clerk and Shelver. You can thank Gina for the neat appearance of our book shelves!
- And of course, we’re all very excited and waiting eagerly (coffee mugs in hand!) for the opening of the new Jazzman Cafe right outside our front door!
And as always, we’re looking forward to helping you have a successful Fall term!
Congratulations to graduating students, best of luck to the ACE students taking their final HESI exam, and to the rest — have a relaxing, rejuvenating vacation! See you in a couple of weeks!

As you head towards that finish line, please take a minute to make sure that you’ve returned all books and videos to the libraries, and cleared any outstanding fines. But you don’t have to say “good-bye” to us! While we regret that we can’t offer off-campus access to our electronic collections, alumni are welcome to visit the libraries and are entitled to borrow books from our collections using their Drexel University alumni card,
We have been experiencing some difficulties connecting to journals in the OVID and ScienceDirect (Elsevier) collections via the SFX linking system. The OVID problem seems to occur only when connecting from off-campus while the ScienceDirect problem can occur regardless of location.
In both cases, it is still possible to obtain the desired journal article.
For ScienceDirect journals: ScienceDirect seems to be having trouble interpreting the article-level information from SFX. Return to the SFX window, and remove the year, volume, issue and page number information from the boxes, then click on the red GO button again. ScienceDirect will open to the entry point for the journal title; it will be necessary to select the volume and issue needed from the listing on the left, then find the required article in the table of contents.

For OVID Journals: Search in the library catalog for the required journal title; click the provided link to connect to OVID, then select the volume and issue needed from the display, and find the required article in the table of contents.
We are working to resolve both of these problems; please don’t hesitate to contact us if you need assistance.
“Stretching the Spine: Books on Health & Healing,” a collaborative exhibit between Drexel University’s Health Sciences Libraries, Hahnemann Library, and the Philadelphia Center for the Book, has been mounted in the exhibit area outside of the 2nd floor entrance to the Hahnemann Library. It explores medicine, health, and healing as they are interpreted through the form of the artist’s book and other book-inspired objects. The exhibition will be available through October 2. Stop by and check it out, and stay tuned for an announcement of a formal opening.
