Anesthesia History Calendar

The Anesthesia History Calendar is a fascinating look at the historical progression of anesthesia and pain management through medicine, literature, and even television. The calendar includes images of physicians and other well-known people with interesting connections to anesthesia such as Sigmund Freud and H.G. Wells. This website was created by the University of Alabama at Birmingham Department of Anesthesiology.

Trial of Extended Hours at Hahnemann

You asked for it! You got it! Starting Wednesday, October 18, hours at the Hahenemann Library will be extended–the Library will open at 7:45am instead of 8am on a trial basis until December 31st. Many students asked us to open earlier so they could use the printers before class. We’ll see if people take advantage of the extra time during the next few months–if so, the change in hours will be permanent.
BTW, remember, there is a printer in the 24-hour room you can use anytime!

DynaMed Clinical Reference Tool–Try It!!

Drexel Libraries has a long-term trial to DynaMed, a clinical decision making database–it has many of the features of FirstConsult and to some extent, Dxplain. Since it’s being offered to the Library at a much lower subscription price than FirstConsult, we’d like to switch to DynaMed in July 2007. We need to hear from users about their preferences, tho.
Try it out by clicking on Databases by Title (D) and select DynaMed.

Then send feedback to me: Hardy@drexel.edu or comment to the blog.
