Radiology Anatomy Teaching Modules

The University of Washington Radiology Department offers
free tutorials that can be used for teaching radiographic anatomy.

The tutorials cover basic radiographic anatomy of the skeleton, radiographic evaluation of hallux valgus, ultrasound of the shoulder, and basic knee anatomy.

Student's Guide to Medical Literature

This medical literature guide prepared by the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center serves as an introduction to understanding medical literature. It begins with a tutorial outlining a four step approach to reading the literature. There are sections on search strategies with links to helpful websites, a guide to critical appraisal of journal articles, and a glossary. A PDA version of this guide is also available for both Palm and Pocket PC.

Virtual Psychology Classroom

AllPsych Online is one of the largest and most comprehensive psychology websites on the Internet. It provides free online textbooks on topics such as statistics and research methods. The Psychology Reference Section has a history of psychology timeline, biographies on important psychology figures, a dictionary, and more. AllPsych Online also offers diagnostic screening tests and self-help quizzes.

Statistics Educational Website

Statistics Online Computational Resource (SOCR) is a website designed for probability and statistics education, technology- based instruction and statistical computing. Its interactive tools include analyses, experiments, and games. This resource was developed by various UCLA departments and centers.

Science Tutorial Page

Science Animations: Movies & Interactive Tutorial Links has tutorials created by publishers, colleges, and individuals. Created by the North Harris College Biology Department in Texas, subjects covered include anatomy, animals, microbiology, and physiology. There’s also a link on the website for downloading free plug-ins like Macromedia Flash Player and Shock Wave for viewing the tutorials.

Teaching/Training Modules in Health and Aging

Started in 2003, the Teaching and Training Modules on Trends in Health and Aging are designed for students and health care professionals to explore trends in aging in the United States. The modules are based on and illustrated with data from the NCHS Data Warehouse on Trends in Health and Aging. The modules are in PDF format.

Intute: Interactive Chemistry Tutorials

Created at the California State University, Dominguez Hills, Intute has 92 pages to assist students and faculty in the study of chemistry. The website provides detailed answers to each problem. Most of the website works with Internet Explorer.
