Restricted Access to End

On Monday, November 9th the law library on Hagerty’s third floor will reopen to all Drexel Students. We know it’s been tough finding space to spread out and get your work done during the law school’s exam period. We appreciate your patience.

When the third floor reopens to the Drexel community, we will also reopen the main library to alumni and members of the public. Starting Monday, 7:30a.m., all are welcome.

Thanks for your patience during law school exams.

Drop-in Writing Help

If you’re looking for writing help in the evening, you’ve now got added options at the library. Starting this week, the Writing Center has added peer tutors to its roster of experts offering writing help in the library.

In addition to their regular schedule of faculty writing help in the evening, the Writing Center’s peer tutors will be available to provide drop-in assistance three evenings a week, now through the first week of December. Swing by Hagerty Library, room 125 and 126. Here’s the peer help schedule:

Tuesdays, 6-9p.m.
Wednesdays, 5-8p.m.
Thursdays, 6-9p.m.

(Writing help won’t be available the week of November 21st, Thanksgiving week)

These hours are in addition to the Writing Center’s regular evening hours. Schedule an appointment for faculty help by visiting the Writing Center website. For peer help, just drop in. You’ll be glad you did!

Café Closures

broomWe’re updating our cleaning schedule in the Bookmark Café. Starting this Monday, November 2nd, the café will close between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m. on weekdays and 3 and 4 p.m. on weekends. This will allow sufficient time for us to give the café a good scrub.

The main part of the library is open during our café cleaning hours. If you’re studying in the café during cleaning time, you’re welcome to move into the main part of the library while you wait for the staff to finish their work.

We’ll also be installing larger trash bins in the café. Please use them and help us maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable work environment at Hagerty Library.

Dragon Card Don’ts

Maybe you’ve got a big pile of library fines and you need to borrow a laptop. Or maybe you left your Dragon card in your dorm, and you’re meeting your classmates in the library in 5 minutes.

Need a quick fix? Using someone else’s Dragon card is not the answer!

If you use someone else’s Dragon card, or if you let someone else use yours, you are misusing a card. This is a violation of Drexel’s Student Conduct and Community Standards, and you will get in serious trouble. Library-related misuse includes:

•    Using someone else’s Dragon card to enter Hagerty
•    Using your own card to swipe other people into Hagerty
•    Using someone else’s card to check out anything—laptops, books, DVDs, and course reserve materials included

If you’re thinking about using someone else’s card, or if a friend asks to borrow yours, don’t do it. You will both face having your cards confiscated or worse. Drexel library staff takes this very seriously, as does Public Safety and the Office of Student Conduct.

Please protect your ID and use it responsibly.
