You’ll see some changes in Hagerty Library as we prepare for the renovations that will be going on over the summer.
- Reserve books and other materials can now be checked out from the main circulation desk.
- Current periodicals have been moved to the Reference shelves.
- On of the coin-operated copiers has been moved to the right end of the DVD racks; the other is near the Reference Area printer. The DragonCard operated copiers are now in room.138 — also to the left of the printer.
- The popular magazine rack is now at the left end of the long DVD racks, and the microfilm readers have been moved in to the Circulation Desk area where assistance can be provided by library staff.
We’ll have some mess and confusion as renovations proceed over the the summer, but we hope you’ll be as excited as we are about the fresh new look and student-friendly features coming to Hagerty Library!
The libraries extend their warmest congratulations to all of the students who graduated last week, and in May.
But you don’t have to say "good-bye" to us! Your Drexel alumni benefits include continued use of the libraries (in person), and the ability to borrow books and other materials from the libraries. We regret that, at the current time, we are unable to offer Interlibrary Loan services or off-campus use of our electronic resources (e-journals, e-books and databases) to alumni.
Please see "Library Services for Alumni/ae" for further information.
The Drexel College of Law Library is hiring work-study students for the summer quarter and possibly beyond. Job duties include assisting library patrons at the Access Services desk and on the phone as well as stack maintenance duties, which include shelving, shelf-reading and shifting library collections. Applicants must be customer service-oriented with basic computer skills. Dependability, punctuality, good communication skills and the ability to lift heavy books are also musts.
We have openings before noon on Monday through Thursday and throughout the day on Friday. If interested, or for more information, please contact Mike Mellor at mbm53@drexel.edu or Katie Bray at knb29@drexel.edu. Unfortunately, only students with federal work-study grants can be accepted.
And the question is . . . . "How many continuous hours is Hagerty Library open for exams?"
Our all-night library access continues this week through Thursday night, with the library building closing at 11:00 pm on Friday.
Enjoy our midnight movie series, with this week’s features including Spaceballs, Them (giant mutant ants!), Spike & Mike’s Festival of Animation, and for the finale on Thursday night, The Wizard of Oz.
Several thefts have been reported in Hagerty Library this week; items lost include a wallet, a laptop and a jacket.
PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE YOUR BELONGINGS UNATTENDED! We realize that students are distracted and under stress at this time of year; unfortunately, those looking for easy targets know this as well. If you’re taking a restroom break, getting a cup of coffee, or just going to talk to a friend for awhile, take your laptop, your backpack, your cell phone, etc. with you, or ask a trusted friend to watch them.
