24/7 access
Waking up in a cold sweat at 3:45 in the morning? Up all night putting the finishing touches on that term paper? No time’s a bad time to come on down to Hagerty, where we’ll be open non stop from Thursday June 4th to Friday, June 12th.

To help our students study, beginning on the morning of Thursday, June 4th, access to Hagerty Library will be restricted to Drexel students, faculty, and staff members. Alumni, members of the public and students from other universities will not be allowed to enter from June 4th through the end of exams. Alumni are welcome to re-enter the building on Saturday, June 13th, and the public and other students will be welcome back on Monday, June 15th.
And students, don’t forget that not only will you have privileged access to the library, but we will also be going 24/7 starting Thursday, June 4th until the end of exam week on Friday, June 12th.
Stop by Hahnemann Library to check out its current book exhibit, “Stretching the Spine: Books on Health & Healing.” View artist’s books and other book-inspired objects that explore and interpret medicine, health, and healing. On display through October 2nd at Hahnemann Library’s second-floor entrance, “Stretching the Spine” is a collaboration of Drexel University’s Health Sciences Libraries, Hahnemann Library, and the Philadelphia Center for the Book.
If you plan to use the library this weekend between enjoying the weather and memorializing our fallen soldiers, you should know that our memorial day weekend schedule will be a bit different from the usual.
Here’s the plan:

So come on in–the air conditioning is fine and the librarians are helpful. But don’t forget to get outside and soak up some good old fashioned sunlight.
Just as we were quietly winding down the week this past Friday, Hagerty Library suddenly found itself in the midst of a brouhaha. Shortly before 5pm, a large team of Philadelphia police entered Hagerty looking for a robbery suspect. Drexel security soon arrived and locked the building, asking staff and patrons to remain inside while the search continued. At 6pm the building was evacuated for further searching, but Fox news reports it was later revealed that the suspect left the building before it was locked down.
Read more about the incident on the Philadelphia Daily News, Fox News, and CBS 3.
If you were in Hagerty between 5 and 6 on Friday, thanks for your patience. Hopefully Memorial Day weekend will kick off with less suspense.
