Natural Sciences in the Archives

We’re just bursting with pride over Drexel’s new partnership with the Academy of Natural Sciences.

To show our school spirit, we’re putting on a show—or rather an exhibit—of rare natural history books from Drexel Archive’s special collections.

The exhibit was put together by Archives volunteer and iSchool grad student Phoebe Kowalewski. Works on display include an astronomy text from 1566 by Alessandro Piccolomini, Jonathan Carver’s 1781 Travels through the Interior Parts of North America, and several volumes of Audubon’s Quadrupeds of North America and Birds Of America.

Fly by soon and get an eyeful.

Presidential Party

Raise a glass to the Drexel’s presidents past at Hagerty Library, today from 4-6p.m.

Drexel University Archives will be celebrating the opening of its most recent exhibit: “Dear Mr. President: Letters to and from the Drexel Presidents.” Find the party and the exhibit this afternoon from 4-6p.m. near the stair well on Hagerty’s first floor.

The exhibit includes correspondence to and from students, parents, faculty, alumni and the public, and demonstrates the changing role of academic leaders since the founding of the Drexel Institute 120 years ago.

Celebrating the Staff

Library staff are just about the nicest people on Earth–at least that’s what we like to think. To honor library workers, we’ve put up a new exhibit on one of librarians’ favorite topics: books. Come check it out near Hagerty’s atrium and learn all about the books that changed the lives of Drexel Library’s staff members.
