The Drexel Writing Center will host “Research Skills and Database Searching for Graduate and Advanced Undergraduate Projects” on Saturday, February 12, 2011 from 3 to 4 p.m. at the W.W. Hagerty Library, room L33 (33rd and Market Streets).

This workshop will be run by a reference librarian who will focus on methods to make researching topics efficient and effective.

This event is free and open to all students, but please register.

Starting today, the Writing Center is offering special workshops in Hagerty Library to get your creative juices flowing.

Drop by for low-stake writing exercises in a supportive environment that will help you get motivated about writing and developing ideas for your class projects. Sessions will include writing together, reading your work, and getting peer feedback. You’ll leave with work you can use and continue to develop on your own.

Last Sunday’s Writing Center workshop, “Research Skills for Capstone Projects” has been rescheduled for this Sunday, November 15th at 3p.m.

If you’re an upper-level undergraduate or a masters student, this workshop will help you start thinking about how to shape your capstone project into something manageable and great.

If you’re looking for writing help in the evening, you’ve now got added options at the library. Starting this week, the Writing Center has added drop-in peer tutors to its roster of experts offering writing help in the library.

In addition to their regular schedule of by-appointment faculty writing help in the evening, the Writing Center’s peer tutors will be available to provide drop-in assistance three evenings a week, now through the first week of December. Swing by Hagerty Library, room 210. Here’s the peer help schedule:

Tuesdays, 6-9p.m.
Wednesdays, 5-8p.m.
Thursdays, 6-9p.m.

(Writing help won’t be available the week of November 21st, Thanksgiving week)

These hours are in addition to the Writing Center’s regular evening hours, which are by appointment only.

Of course you conduct all your research at Hagerty library. Now you can stay here to get help pulling all that hard work into a grade A paper. Starting this week and running through the rest of the term, the Writing Center will hold evening and weekend hours in Rooms 125 and 126 on Hagerty’s first floor (hint: they’re behind the reference section).

The Writing Center is coming over to Hagerty this summer to help you with your writing assignments. A Writing Center tutor will be in room 125 on Hagerty’s main floor on Tuesdays from 4:30-7pm from July 14th through August 11th. Make a reservation, or drop by and see if there’s room.

Along with reference help, computers, laptops, endless books, and top notch online research tools, the writing center makes Hagerty the place to be when you’re working on school projects.

Whether you’re trying to bang out a rough draft or putting the finishing touches on your paper, the Drexel Writing Center can help. From now until the end of Spring term, the Writing Center will hold evening hours on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5 to 8pm in room 125, at the back of Hagerty Library’s first floor.
