Now Hiring: Inventory Assistant
The Drexel University Libraries is seeking an Inventory Assistant to work on an inventory of the Libraries’ collections in order to maintain an accurate, up to date record of the Libraries' assets.
Description of duties:
Assist project manager in the completion of an inventory of the Libraries’ collections. Some duties include:
· Scan barcodes of items on shelf
· Using Millennium (integrated library system), run reports and search for, review, and update item records
· Search the library for missing items and identify items/item records that need updating.
· Lift stacks of books (about 35 lbs) and push full carts of books (about 300 lbs)
Candidate must have initiative, the ability to learn new tasks quickly, and perform extremely repetitive work maintaining acute attention to detail.
Preferred: academic library experience, experience with library automated systems.
This is a temporary part time position for 20 hours per week, starting as soon as possible and ending around the start of Fall Term in September 2012 (final date to be set as project continues).
Weekly work schedule is flexible, but most should be worked during the hours of 9-5pm, Monday through Friday. The main work location is W. W. Hagerty Library but other Drexel University Libraries locations may be visited during the course of the project. The pay rate is $15/hour.
