Libraries Develops "Tales of the Dragon" Oral Histories
The Libraries launched an oral histories program to build audio records for the University Archives. It has acquired a computer, professional grade microphones, audio software and a large sound booth [donated by Westphal College], all located in the W.W. Hagerty Library. Staff is arranging interviews with Drexel alumni and opportunities for capturing "Story Board" like reflections among students and groups on campus. Recording will be preserved as well as transcribed to create an archival record about Drexel. These "Tales of the Dragon" will be a new dimension for documenting Drexel's history.
Staff are also exploring applications for this equipment for support of student projects. Any Drexel student, faculty or staff who are interested in making good quality recordings, please contact John Wiggins. To sign up for the equipment and use the space, please contact John Wiggins at the Library Assistance Desk at W. W. Hagerty Library by phone at 215.895.2767, via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or through the Library Chat icon on the Libraries’ home page.
