Telling the Tales of the Dragon: Libraries Launches Oral History Program

From top left: Nancy Lewis '98 , Danuta Nitecki '72, Dean of Libraries, Orval Lovett ’47 and Rachel (Garber) Lovett ‘47

The Tales of the Dragon project began in October as Dean of Libraries Danuta Nitecki interviewed alums Orval Lovett ’47 and Rachel (Garber) Lovett ‘47.  Mr. Lovett was a civil engineering major and a member of Apple Pi (a.k.a., Alpha Pi Lambda). Mrs. Lovett majored in home economics and belongs to Alpha Sigma Alpha.  They and their daughter Nancy Lewis (MS '98) shared stories of their time at Drexel in an era of great change on campus and across the globe.

Throughout this academic year, the Libraries will continue to interview alums who belonged to fraternities and sororities, as part of our Archives of Greek Life. Our alum advisory group is compiling a list of notable alums to interview.  The Tales of the Dragon recordings and their transcriptions will be available online in 2013.
