Gary Childs, Health Sciences Librarian, featured on NBC 10 for Volunteer Work

Liaison Librarian for Health Sciences, Gary Childs was recently featured on NBC - 10 Philadelphia for the Dog Day Saturday segment promoting St. Pitty's & Kitty's Day hosted by the Animal Care and Control Team [ACCT Philly]. Gary is a volunteer at ACCT Philly and spends much of his free time training companion animals sheltered there along with instructing canine handling workshops for fellow ACCT volunteers.

The Libraries Welcome: Evan Rich

On Monday, January 27, 2014, the Libraries’ welcomed Evan Rich as the new Library Assistant for Resource Sharing. Evan has his bachelor’s degree in anthropology with additional coursework in computer science and communications media. Evan previously worked at the Schoenberg Center for Electronic Text and Image/University of Pennsylvania Rare Books and Manuscripts Library where he worked as the Digital Library Assistant.

Evan will be based at Hahnemann Library with the bulk of the resource sharing team.

Libraries Staff Receive Acknowledgments: April 2013

Laura Chance, Library Reserves Assistant, received the Association of College and Research Libraries, Delaware Valley Chapter’s Future Librarian Award. Laura’s winning essay earned her a $1,000 stipend so that she could attend the ACRL 2013 Conference in Indianapolis, IN.

The Libraries Welcome: Tom Ipri

On Monday, August 22, 2011 the Libraries welcomed Liason Librarian for Media Arts and Design, Tom Ipri. Tom was most recently the Head of Media and Computer Services at UNLV's Lied Library and before that, the Media Services Librarian at LaSalle University.

Dorothy Ann Colflesh (Schwartz)

Dorothy Ann Colflesh [Schwartz], Director of Administrative Services, passed away June 29, 2010.  She earned two master degrees from Drexel, an MBA from the LeBow College of Business and an MLIS from the College of Information Science and Technologies.  Her many friends and colleagues in the Libraries, where she worked for over eight years, remember her good humor and thoughtfulness

Danuta Nitecki: Drexel's new Dean of Libraries

After a six month search Drexel's Provost Mark L. Greenberg announced the appointment of Dr. Danuta Nitecki as Dean of Libraries. We eagerly anticipate her arrival in January 2010.
