Who can use reserves/place items on reserve?
Our physical reserves collection can be used by all library patrons (students, faculty members, and guests). Access to electronic resources is limited to students and faculty: you can only see the electronic items requested for your course.
On February 28th, all Library Reserves materials accessible through the Drexel University Libraries’ website will no longer be accessible to faculty and students. This includes electronic materials previously accessible with a course password. This is a part of our initiative to transition to Ares, our new reserves system that works as a plug in to Blackboard Learn.
Libraries staff will guide faculty through the new Ares Reserves Management Software and provide details on how submit and access library reserve materials.
Starting Fall quarter, Drexel Libraries will implement a new reserves system, Ares, to manage all library reserves requests. Library reserves requests will need to be submitted electronically through Blackboard Learn. This is a significant change to our reserves processing workflow, and we ask that you please begin thinking about and submitting your reserves requests as soon as possible.
Attached is some general information about Ares.
