My colleague, Uta Grothkopf, ESO Library just shared this blog and I thought I would continue the sharing...what do you all think? Is this the direction you see?

Insects as Weapons of War, Terror, and Torture

Your Library in the News!
Hey, we made some news recently. It has spread through a number of news outlets, but here is the item from our own Philly Inquirer:
In a new program, Drexel students can borrow laptops at library kiosk
Drexel University sophomore Hyo Jung Cha needed to listen to audio clips for her Japanese class on Thursday afternoon but didn't feel like lugging her laptop to the school's Hagerty Library.
So she decided to use the library's newest addition - a laptop kiosk.
Electronic Access to Full Text Dissertations & Theses!
The Libraries has recently acquired electronic access to the full-text version of the ProQuest Dissertations & Theses (PQDT) database providing immediate access to over a million full-text dissertations and theses from institutions throughout North America. Dissertations and theses have been some of the more difficult resources to obtain through InterLibrary Loan. This is very exciting! The link below goes directly to the ProQuest Database, otherwise you can select it from the ProQuest databases list or from our "Databases" tab under 'ProQuest Dissertations and Theses'.
Happy, Happy New Year!
When you have a few moments to visit W.W. Hagerty Library, take a look at a couple of new displays. The displays were created by two sections of Dr. Lloyd Ackert's Great Works Symposium, Univ 241 (Fall 2012) reflecting their studies of the Frontiers of Science: The Search for Extraterrestrial Life. One is "Where Are We On The Spectrum Of Life" (section 001) led by Dr. Ackert. The other is "Evolution of Aliens" led by Dr. Shivanthi Anandan. Enjoy!!!
