A recent graduate of the College of Computing and Informatics, Lisa Kruczek spent her last term working as an intern in the University Archives. There, she processed the papers of William Walsh Hagerty, who served as the President of the University from 1963 - 1984. Before Lisa completed her internship with the Libraries, I had a chance to sit down with her to talk about the exhibit and her experience in the Libraries.
The newest librarian on the staff at Drexel, Janice Masud-Paul joined the Libraries in December 2013. Since then, she’s hit the ground running growing the Libraries collaborations and support for research in the College of Nursing and Health Professions. She’s championed the Faculty Portfolios initiative with the college and is quickly becoming known on campus for her expertise.

Last year alone over 2 million items were downloaded from electronic resources linked through the Libraries’ website. Curious about this massive quantity of downloads and how they are supported, I sat down with Noelle Egan, our librarian who manages eResources and acquisitions at the Libraries. She works with many different departments to ensure access to a wide array of electronic resources available through drexel.edu/library.
To kick off the New Year, I sat down with our manager of discovery systems, Spencer Lamm to learn more about the work being done in the Libraries’ systems department.
It’s not often that I find myself walking past the office of Peggy Dominy, liaison librarian for science and math, but when I do it is usually full – of students, of quilts, of resources and books, and maybe a few turtle trinkets as well. Peggy is a passionate teacher, a talented quilter, a knowledgeable and innovative librarian and a dedicated parent.

In the year and a half since she joined the Libraries’ staff, Nancy Bellafante has been busy. As the Libraries first librarian dedicated specifically to undergraduate learning, she is tasked with developing programs to strengthen information literacy skills in undergraduates while promoting lifelong learning. Already, she has developed numerous new initiatives to promote the Libraries services and programs.
