It’s not often that I find myself walking past the office of Peggy Dominy, liaison librarian for science and math, but when I do it is usually full – of students, of quilts, of resources and books, and maybe a few turtle trinkets as well. Peggy is a passionate teacher, a talented quilter, a knowledgeable and innovative librarian and a dedicated parent.
The Libraries would like to congratulate Steve Bogel, Gary Childs, Joshua Fore, Al Gerhold, Oreste Jimenez, Larry Milliken, Tom Pugh, Tim Siftar, Nancy Spedding, Elizabeth Ten Have, Tainesha Ware, and Ellen Wolk for their milestone years of service. Together these 12 individuals have dedicated a combined 125 years of service to Drexel University. They will be recognized at a special luncheon in December.
The commitment of these individuals to the Libraries is greatly appreciated.
On Tuesday, November 5, 2013 the Libraries’ Ann Yurcaba was recognized at the Department of Public Safety’s Commendation & Award Ceremony for her work on the Drexel University Preparedness Users Group.
Managing University Records, A Question & Answer With Alexis Antracoli, Records Management Archivist

Nancy Bellafante, Librarian for Undergraduate Learning, traveled to Seattle, Washington this past July to attend an intensive, weeklong program for instructional librarians. Bellafante was selected to participate in the distinguished Information Literacy Immersion Program sponsored by the Association of College and Research Libraries.
On Monday, September 30th the Libraries welcomed Janice Masud-Paul as Librarian for Nursing Research. Prior to joining the Libraries, Janice served as the head of information technology for the Camden County Library System where she had been since 1998. In her role there, she coordinated the shared integrated library management system, networks and associated hardware.
In the year and a half since she joined the Libraries’ staff, Nancy Bellafante has been busy. As the Libraries first librarian dedicated specifically to undergraduate learning, she is tasked with developing programs to strengthen information literacy skills in undergraduates while promoting lifelong learning. Already, she has developed numerous new initiatives to promote the Libraries services and programs.
On Monday, August 12, 2013, Sophie Miles joined the Libraries as Technician I for Reserves in the Library Services department. Sophie will work with the reserves team to process physical and electronic items for addition to the reserves collection. She will provide outreach and support for reserves patrons and help maintain reserves collections at all Libraries locations.
On Monday, July 15, 2013, Spencer Lamm joined the staff of the Libraries as manager, discovery systems. He previously worked as the digital initiatives librarian at Swarthmore College where his responsibilities included managing the infrastructure systems and user-facing applications of the Tri-College Library Consortium, which includes Swarthmore College, Bryn Mawr College and Haverford College.
