A big change was made at W. W. Hagerty at the start of summer quarter – the Reference Desk was removed! It may appear to have been an abrupt change, and is certainly a noticeable one, but it was the result of months of research and planning. Now, W. W. Hagerty Library patrons can get assistance at a single location, simplifying where to seek help for those who were unsure in the past.
Have a quick question for us? We're expanding our Chat reference to accept questions via text messaging. Text your question to 918-DREXEL-1 (918-373-9351); we'll respond directly to your phone.
Text service will be available during all the hours that our Hahnemann Reference Desk is open:
- Monday-Thursday, 9 am - 9 pm
- Friday 9 am - 5 pm
- Saturday & Sunday 10 am - 5 pm
The literature reference section seems limited in relation to medicine; the greater portion is dedicated to Shakespeare!
Thanks for this observation. If you are not finding what you’re looking for on the reference shelf, that doesn’t mean we don’t have it. We’ve got all kinds of literature reference resources that are online only.
Term break can't come soon enough.
In honor of the first weekend of summer, reference help is closing early today. We'll shut down at 11:30 am. Got a question? Call, write, email, IM, or stop by and visit. We're back up and running starting Saturday at noon.
We'll take another break on Sunday, but then we're back to our regular reference schedule, seven days a week, starting Monday, June 21st. See you then!
Continuing the countdown of 10 ways to use Hagerty for low-stress, high-efficiency studying.

And ready to Chat with you!
We've upgraded our Chat/IM reference service -- the new "floating" chat box will let you move around our website, but still stay connected to us. Give it a try! Just look for the "HealthSciRef in Online" graphic on our web pages (if we're offline, you'll connect to our email reference form).
Reference help is also available via IM (AIM, GoogleTalk and Yahoo) -- put "HealthSciRef" on your buddy list and you'll always know when we're online.
Our Chat/IM reference service is online Monday through Thursday 9 am to 9 pm, and Fridays 9 am to 5 pm.
