Course reserves are now integrated into the Blackboard Learn course management system, providing a single access point for course-related materials. This change is the result of a new module, Ares, that the Libraries’ acquired and began using in fall 2012.

The new system provides numerous benefits, relieving students from waiting in line during busy times at the Circulation Desk and freeing faculty from completing multiple paper forms. Face-to-face and online students and faculty can use the Blackboard tool to gain immediate access to electronic reserves or information about print materials available at the physical library. Students and faculty can subscribe to notifications to learn when new resources are available on reserve, and faculty can renew reserves for a new term with just a few quick clicks.

Ahoy me matey's!

Only three weeks till we weigh anchor! Argh! On Friday September 25th from 4 to 6 p.m. thar be a Pirate Party at the Arrrchives.  Me welcomes ye new and returning privateers and buccaneers to the Arrrchives.   Open House includes treasure (rare books and maps), looting (records management) and pillaging (complimentary refreshments).  Ye Olde Arrrchives is on the lower level of Hagerty Library.

We are always interested in hearing patrons' views of archives, so this blog post was of special interest. Elesha Coffman, a history professor at Waynesburg University, shares her four keys to effective archives work in "The Art of the Archive."

Congratulations to all the participants in Drexel Research Day today!  Archiving your poster in iDEA (Drexel's E-Repository and Archives) is a great way to improve the visibility of your research and ensure that it is preserved permanently.  E-mail your poster (with an abstract please!) to archives@drexel.edu, and we will deposit it in iDEA, then send you a permanent URL that you can add to your C.V.

The Department of Bioethics at the NIH is offering a course on the ethical and regulatory aspects of clinical research.  The course will be held September 24- November 12, 2008 at NIH's Bethesda campus.  Webcast lectures and podcast lectures will also be available, although CCME credits are available only to those who attend in person.  Registration is required only for those that plan on attending in person.
