Faculty members and the dean of Morocco’s School of Information Science (ESI) visited Drexel University Libraries on Thursday, December 1, 2011, as a part of their tour of Philadelphia, sponsored by the Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program. The group toured W. W. Hagerty Library and the Legal Research Center and met with the director of library academic partnerships, Beth Ten Have, and iSchool and education liaison librarian, Tim Siftar.
Over a dozen digital projects were on display at the Digital@Drexel Presentation and Showcase event on Friday, November 18th at W. W. Hagerty Library. The event, hosted by Drexel University Libraries and the Digital@Drexel Group, drew attention to some of the unique digital projects underway at Drexel University.
A joint researching team from The iSchool at Drexel and the Drexel University Libraries, including Kathleen Turner, Linda M. G. Katz, Gary Childs and Lenore Hardy, participated in a grant-funded project entitled “Increasing Parental Health Literacy to Optimize Pregnancy Outcomes,” from the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, Middle Atlantic Region. The projected worked with the Philadelphia 11th Street Family Health Services Center to help educate pregnant women on health information.
