Love the DVDs [Hagerty Library]

The DVDs available are AWESOME. You guys are doing great. But we’ll probably need more space.

I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying our new DVD collection! We just recently installed some new, deeper shelving that will allow greater capacity for the TV shows. We are closely monitoring wall space and will make adjustments as needed. Thanks for your comment!

Lockers [Hagerty Library]

Lockers.jpg

Place lockers in the new 24-hour section.

Thanks for your suggestion. Unfortunately, there is no room for lockers in the new 24/7 space. Current periodicals will be housed on the free wall space. Soon, Hagerty will be undergoing renovations, and the plan is to make lockers available on both the lower level and the first floor.

Hot, hot, hot! [Hagerty Library]

Thermostat2.jpg

Let’s turn down the heat a tad. The sweating gets real bad. My ears are tomatoes, and I can’t think with all this heat. Thanks.

Thanks for your suggestion. We have been working with facilities to monitor the temperature, and it should improve. It takes a balancing act for these large buildings, but we do monitor the temperature and make changes as soon as we can.

Dirty Toilets [Hagerty Library]

Toilet.jpg

The toilets are often extremely dirty at night.

We thank you for bringing the issue of our uncleanly bathrooms to our attention and apologize for any inconvenience. We will speak with Housekeeping about this to make sure the bathrooms are regularly checked for cleanliness throughout the day and night. The library staff will also monitor the situation and report to the Library Administration any issues regarding cleaning and/or functioning of the restrooms. We will continue to be in contact with the Director of Housekeeping to ensure that service is being kept up.

More Movies [Hagerty Library]

• Poltergeist
• Night of the Living Dead
• Magic
• Stir of Echoes
• Jacob’s Ladder

Thanks for your suggestions. I think you’ll be happy to learn that we already have Poltergeist and Night of the Living Dead. I added the rest of these titles to the list of recommended DVDs.

Calvin & Hobbes [Hagerty Library]

Calvin and Hobbes.jpg

Looking for Calvin & Hobbes complete collection. Thanks!

Thanks for your suggestion. I placed an order for The Complete Calvin and Hobbes last week, so hopefully it will arrive within the next few weeks. This book will be in the leisure reading collection on the first floor when it comes in.

Study Room Doors [Hagerty Library]

Put the doors back on the study rooms on the first floor at the back.

Thanks for your suggestion. Due to renovations in the building, it has been necessary to remove the doors for some of the study rooms on the first floor. Pending the completion of the renovations, this will no longer be an issue.

Heroes Season 1 [Hagerty Library]

Heroes Season 1

Thanks for your suggestion. You’ll be delighted to learn we already have Heroes Season 1. Hope you enjoy!

Ear Plugs [Hagerty Library]

Ear Plugs.JPG

The library needs to provide better quality ear plugs.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We will look into ordering higher quality ear plugs.

Dirty Carpet [Hagerty Library]

Please clean the carpets!!! The carpets are extremely dirty!!!

Thanks for your suggestion. We, too, have noticed that the carpets are “well-used". In the short-term, we will request that Housekeeping clean the carpets. But in the long-term, Hagerty will be undergoing renovations, and those renovations will hopefully include new carpeting.

Smelly Study Rooms [Hagerty Library]

Smelly.jpg

The study rooms on the first floor stink!! It’s really bad, especially Rooms 131-134. I had to change rooms many times.

Thanks for your suggestion. We will be tightening our food policy when the new café opens (next week), and that should help improve the odor.

About a Boy [Hagerty Library]

About a Boy.jpg

Please get About a Boy on DVD.

Thanks for your suggestion. You’ll be happy to learn we already have this DVD. It’s currently checked out but is due back November 26. Enjoy!

Extend your hours! [Hagerty Library]

Please extend your hours.

Thanks for your suggestion. We are happy to report that construction is currently underway for a new 24/7 area in Hagerty Library. We hope to open the new area Tuesday, November 27 with regular library hours. The room will be open 24-hours starting when the new railing gets here for the patio area. While we do not have a definite date at this time, it should not be too far from now.

Mannequin 2 [Hagerty Library]

Mannequin 2.jpg

Please get the old movie Mannequin 2: On the Move. Thanks.

Thanks for your suggestion. Unfortunately, this movie is not available on DVD, and we don’t purchase VHS tapes. Feel free to let us know if this movie is released on DVD, and we’ll gladly add it to our request list.

I love the "C" Chairs! [Hagerty Library]

Those red “C” chairs are the real deal. It’s the second nicest thing in the library.

Thanks for your comment. These chairs are on loan temporarily to see what student responses are. So I’m glad to hear you like the chairs! I’m curious…what’s the nicest thing in the library?

People are just plain too loud! [Hagerty Library]

Shh.gif

The 3rd floor is supposed to be the quiet area. However, I find that it’s quite noisy there at times. The 3rd floor should be monitored. It’s annoying to see people talk loudly there.

We share your concerns about inappropriate noise levels at Hagerty. Our “Courtesy Policies” addressing these issues are posted on our website at http://www.library.drexel.edu/about/courtesy.html. We do our best to deal with these issues as we see them, but unfortunately we cannot be aware of all instances. We ask that you alert library staff when patrons are being noisy and disruptive. Thank you for expressing your concerns. We greatly appreciate your feedback.

Good staff member! [Hagerty Library]

The girl that works here with the short hair is sweet. Have her work more.

Glad to hear you had a positive experience with one of our employees. We all strive to provide excellent customer service!

Shhh [Hagerty Library]

On 3rd floor, the administrative staff makes more noise than needed. That disturbs people (students) studying for “BOARDS” or any competitive exams in limited time span. Please MAKE SOME ARRANGEMENTS TO FIX that. Would appreciate your attention. Thanks.

Thanks for bringing this to attention. Due to a renovation project, Information Services staff on the third floor will be relocating to the first floor. Staff noise should no longer be a problem.

Weak Wireless [Hagerty Library]

The dead spots and weak signal of the wireless Internet in the library is really bad and very frustrating. It’s not just my laptop, everyone experiences it. Please fix.

Thank you for your suggestion. We have received a number of complaints about this recently. Someone from IRT was here last week testing the wireless signal and strategizing how to improve the signal at Hagerty. Please let us know if things do not improve shortly.

Smoking Outside the Library [Hagerty Library]

smoking.jpg

Can we ban smoking outside the library, already? I am tired of walking through a cloud of cancer-causing smoke whenever I want to visit.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Drexel’s policy does prohibit smoking at the gate: “Outdoor smoking areas should be located far enough away from doorways, open windows, covered walkways, and ventilation systems to prevent smoke from entering University buildings and facilities.” The entire policy is available at http://www.drexel.edu/provost/policies/publicsafety_tobacco_use.asp.

We have posted signs notifying patrons of Drexel’s policy on smoking. Library staff will also be making a concerted effort to enforce these rules. If you have a particular concern at any time, please see the staff at the Circulation Desk, and they will be happy to assist you.
