Please fix your outlet situation downstairs ASAP! This is easily the most frustrating thing about Hagerty.
Thanks for your suggestion. Please be assured that we are working as quickly as possible to resolve this situation. We will be purchasing additional power strips, and we are in discussion with Facilities to see what else can be done to resolve this problem. We appreciate your patience.

You have scanners downstairs but you can’t use them. Either there are people on the machines not using the scanners or the machine/scanner doesn’t work. Put up a sign that those computers are meant for scanner-use.
We’re sorry to hear you’ve had difficulty using the scanners downstairs. We have checked the scanners and they appear to be in working order. If at any time you are having difficulty using the scanners, please let someone at the Circulation or Reference Desks know and they will obtain help for you. We would be glad to post signs reserving those computers for scanner-use only. We will post those as soon as possible. We are also happy to report that we will soon be installing new photocopiers that will have Scan to Email capability. Stay tuned for more details…

This is Your Brain on Music by Daniel Levitin is an awesome book!!
We’re so glad to hear you enjoyed this book! For anyone else who’s interested in a great read, we do have a copy here at Hagerty (although it’s currently checked out) and an electronic copy (available at http://tinyurl.com/5amkb4). We hope you enjoy!
The 24-hour Café should have a few computers and printers available for student use. Also staplers, etc.
Thanks for your suggestion. It is unlikely that we will be adding more computers to the Café space. A multi-function copier-printer device has been ordered for the Café. We would be happy to provide another Stapling Station—we will get that set up as soon as possible.

Create an email or SMS warning message to alert people when reserve materials are due (i.e. textbooks, laptops, study rooms) or when the material is ready after someone returns it.
Thanks for your suggestion. Unfortunately, our computer system does not allow us to send out courtesy notices for reserve materials. As always, you can check your library record at any time from the library’s homepage (http://www.library.drexel.edu/). Just click on “Check MY Library Record” in the purple box—that will tell you what materials you have checked out and when they’re due back. Hope this helps to clear up any confusion.
Be able to reserve/renew DVDs online!
Thanks for your recommendation. Unfortunately, we are unable to allow patrons to place holds or renew DVDs from the catalog. Some DVDs are circulating up to 3 times a day, so we don’t want to limit their circulation by enabling holds and automatic renewals. If you absolutely need a DVD for a class assignment or some other urgent concern, please see the staff at the circulation desk and they can help you with reserving this DVD. Thanks for your understanding.

I just saw a cockroach the size of my middle finger in the bathroom. Please do something about it.
Thanks for letting us know! We already have regular visits from an exterminator to help with the pest issue, but we will notify them that it is time to visit again. You can help us by putting all trash in containers and leaving your workspace clean when you are finished in the library. In addition, please report any “sightings” to the circulation desk so that we can direct the exterminator to the problem areas and call him in for extra visits as needed.
Can the library devise a way to allow alumni to log on to a computer terminal without needing to ask a reference librarian? For example, maybe being able to use one’s name and alumni library card number as a password.
Thanks for your question. While we sympathize with you that it is somewhat of a hassle to have a reference librarian log you on every time you want to use a computer, unfortunately we cannot provide you with your own username and password for logging on. Due to agreements with our database vendors, we need to closely regulate who has access to our research computers. As a result, we appreciate your cooperation in following the log-in protocol.
Please also keep in mind that if you come in the morning, we will need to log you onto a computer at the first floor hubs as we cannot leave the desk unattended to log patrons on. Thanks!

Please order the book Benjamin Franklin: An American Life by Walter Isaacson. Thanks.
Thanks for your recommendation. You’ll be pleased to learn we already have this book! The book is on the second floor and the call number is E302.6.F8 I83 2003. Here’s the link to the catalog record: http://tinyurl.com/5q9cgc. Enjoy!
DVDs: rest of the Stanley Kubrick collection and anything on AFI’s 100 Years…100 Movies list.
Thanks for your suggestions. We will gladly add the titles that we don’t already have to our request list. One thing to be aware of: we already have most of the AFI’s 100 Years…100 Movies films, but many of them are kept behind the circulation desk. Please look in the catalog for these films. The location in the catalog will tell you how long you can check these DVDs out (i.e. “Hagerty Reserve Room 3 Day Loan”).
