Perhaps have a separate section for newer movies that the library gets in stock? I get tired of going through the alphabet looking for new ones!
Thanks for this great idea. We’re really cramped for space at the moment, so we can’t make a separate section for new DVDs, but we can post a list of the most recent DVDs by the leisure shelves. Also, don’t forget you can always find a list of the most recent additions on the library website. Go to the home page and find the “New Books and DVDs” link on the left. Or just click here.
Two DVD requests:
Can you get more Food Network DVDs? Like Alton Brown and Iron Chef. Pretty please?
Can you please get the first and second season of “How I met Your Mother”?
Thanks for these great recommendations. We’ll put them on the list for consideration later in the summer.
I don’t know if these exist, but Bill Nye, the Science Guy DVDs would be really really awesome. And The Shining.
Thanks for the great suggestions! To say that Bill Nye the Science Guy DVDs do exist is probably the understatement of the year. We’ll get some.
And, of course, what DVD collection would be complete without a copy of The Shining? We had one, but it was lost. Perhaps it was thrown in the Schuylkill River by a creeped-out engineering student. We’ll get another one so the creep fest can continue.
Can you get The Bicycle Thief on DVD?
Great movie, and great suggestion. In fact, we already have The Bicycle Thief on DVD, although it’s not part of our leisure collection. This term, the DVD is available from our reserve desk for three day loan. However, this film is frequently put on course reserve, and when that happens, it will only be available for viewing in the library.
Be sure to check out our other great DVDs that are not in the leisure collection. Just make sure to search the entire catalog, not just DVDs, when searching for a title.
I would like to see more updated DVDs. Thanks.
Thanks for your suggestion. We are actually ordering new DVDs each month! For a list of the latest new DVDs, see the “New AV List” at http://innoserv.library.drexel.edu/ftlist.
I think I “Heart” Huckabees would be a wonderful addition to the Leisure DVDs. I love it and would like as many people as possible to see it!
Thanks for your suggestion. I “Heart” Huckabees is currently on “Hagerty Reserve Media Overnight Loan”. But at the end of the Fall Term, this movie should return to its rightful place in the Leisure DVD collection. Hope you enjoy!
Add the missing DVD of Dexter to the collection. It’s disk 3 of 4 that’s currently missing.
Thanks for your suggestion. Unfortunately, we don’t have a great way to replace a single disc without replacing the entire season. Sometimes our vendors sell a single disc at a time, but that’s not available for Dexter Season 1. We’ll keep an eye out and see if we can replace this. Thanks for your patience…
The movies need to be organized!!
Thanks so much for your suggestion. We agree with you that the lack of DVD organization is a headache for students and staff alike. As a result, we will be organizing the leisure DVD collection over break before the Fall Term begins. This will be a rudimentary organization (by first letter of the title), but we think even some organization will help.

We need to have a better/larger collection of Bollywood movies.
Thanks for your suggestion. We are more than happy to purchase more Bollywood titles. We recently placed orders for Tere Mere Sapne and Kaun. Are there any specific titles you’re looking for? We always like good recommendations!
It is really hard to find the DVDs I’m looking for. It would be better if there was a categorization for the DVDs.
Thanks for your comment. Because of how quickly the DVDs circulate, we are unable to keep them in any particular order. Some DVDs are checked out up to four times in a single day! I recommend that you look a up DVD in the catalog first to make sure it’s available, and then you can begin the search along the wall. As always, if you’ve searched and searched and still can’t find that title you’re looking for, feel free to stop by the circulation or reference desks and we can help you look.
