Library Assistance
The Libraries' offer a single point of assistance for patrons at W. W. Hagerty Library. This single location provides efficient access to patrons via the Circulation Desk. Individuals with more detailed research assistance needs are directed to the on-call professional librarian.
The change to a single access point was a result of evidence collected during interactions with library users, which showed that the Libraries’ were largely duplicating services - answering similar questions at the Circulation and Reference Desks – increasing the cost and decreasing the depth of services.
No services were removed in this transition and users who know in advance that they need detailed reference assistance can schedule an appointment directly with the librarian of their choice.
