Researching a Company

Before you go out for your interview, you want to research the company to be as well-informed as possible.  The following databases are great places to conduct your research.
Business and Company Resource Center– ELECTRONIC

Use the “company” search feature to find a basic overview of your company. Be sure to click on the tabs across the top of the screen for information including rankings, company histories, investment reports, and products. Links on the left side of the screen will lead you to articles about your company.

Hoover’s– ELECTRONIC

Only have ten minutes to learn all you can about a company? Than Hoovers is a great place to go. It offers profiles of more than 50,000 US and international companies. Each profile may include company description, historical profile, competitors, financials, industry information, and biographies of executives.

Factiva– ELECTRONIC

Select the “Companies/Markets” tab on the top of the screen to search for your company with their symbol. Use the interactive graph on the right side of the screen to look at articles about the company that were published on any given day on the chart. Very useful and interesting.
