Engineering Information Retrieval Tutorial

Welcome to the Engineering Information Retrieval pilot tutorial, a collaboration betweenDrexel University's Hagerty Library and Elsevier's Engineering Village 2. The tutorial is intended to be used primarily by undergraduate engineering students facing their first big research project.

The tutorial covers the following topics:

  • a general review of information sources,
  • how to develop a search strategy, where to find relevant articles,
  • how to arrange to receive article updates, and
  • patent searches.

Navigation

The Table of Contents visible on the left hand section of the screen allows you to jump from topic to topic. You can also use the Next and Previous buttons in the upper right hand corner of the frame to move from topic to topic.

Where there are multiple pages on a specific topic, a new set of buttons labeled Click here to continue and Click here to go back will appear in the four corners of the main content frame, as appropriate. You can also use the browser Back and Forward buttons if desired.

To Connect to the Tutorial:

  1. Click on the link below.
  2. Enter:
    • Username: jmeyer01
    • Password: jmeyer01
  3. Under 'My courses' Click "Engineering Information Retrieval"
  4. Click on "Course Material" button (on left side of page)button
  5. Click Launch under 'Engineering Information Retrieval Course'
