The Drexel University Libraries design workshops for general attendance as well as specific University courses. Members of the Drexel University community may request a workshop on particular topics, resources, or to address the specific research needs.

Self-guided tutorials and other instructional guides on all aspects of the research process using broad-based methodologies as well as Drexel-specific resources are available.
The mission of the instructional services of the Drexel University Libraries is to enable Drexel students and faculty to independently seek, retrieve, evaluate, and use information in order to solve problems and generate knowledge.
The goals of these instructional services are to:
- Provide information literacy-based orientation and instruction in a variety of formats to individual, group, and remote members of the University community.
- Actively partner with faculty and other campus entities to integrate information literacy instruction into University coursework and instructional planning.
- Promote information literacy to the faculty and administration as an integral part of education and research at Drexel University.
- Support the mission of Drexel University by ensuring that every Drexel student becomes a lifelong learner who uses technology effectively and ethically to contribute to global society.
The phrase "information literacy" describes a set of intellectual skills and abilities that are crucial for individual achievement in the information age. These abilities, more thoroughly elaborated in the standards below, involve critical thinking, problem solving, and computer literacy, as well as evaluation and synthesis. We follow the Association of College and Research Libraries guidelines.
- The student will determine the nature and extent of the information needed.
- The student will access information effectively and efficiently.
- The student will critically evaluate information and its sources.
- The student will use information effectively to accomplish a specific purpose.
- The student will understand the economic, legal, and social issues surrounding the use of information and access information ethically and legally.
