The Libraries must sign a license, and thereby agree to certain terms when electronic resources are purchased. Licensing terms usually specify that access will be limited to current Drexel University students, faculty, and staff. Proxy access enables the Library to offer off-campus access to authorized users without violating those licenses.

DrexelOne combines gateways to email, BannerWeb, and online courses as well as campus announcements, calendars, and news. A Drexel email username and password are used to log in to DrexelOne. The DrexelOne Library Channel link, found on the Student Services, Faculty Services, and Employee Services "tabs," provides quick access to key library resources and services: the catalog; course reserves; electronic resources; and your library record, which allows you to renew books online or check the status of requests. In addition, a link to the Libraries' home page provides full access (pre-authenticated through the DrexelOne login process) to all library web pages and licensed resources that are available from off-campus and require authorization. With the convenience of the pre-authentication mechanism of a one-time login via DrexelOne, users only need to login once during a single session on the library website.

EZproxy is the system Drexel University Libraries use to ensure library access to members of the Drexel Community who are doing research from off-campus sites. This method is used to gain access to resources when entering the library web site directly from the library homepage.

EZproxy is simple to use:

When you select a link to a restricted resource, you'll see a login page.  Enter your Drexel Email Username and Password.  Click on the submit button. Your authorization will remain in place until you close your browser.

What if EZproxy Does Not Work?

If you are denied access, it might be because:

• You are not registered as a patron at Drexel University Libraries.
• You are registered, but there is some discrepancy between our records and your username or password as you are typing them.
• Your privileges are blocked because of unpaid fines or charges for lost materials.
• You are registered with the Libraries, but not in a category that allows off-campus access to restricted resources.
