Drexel University Joins the Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research [ICPSR]
This month, Drexel University joined over 750 academic and research institutions as a member of the Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research [ICPSR]. Membership provides access to the ICPSR data archive of more than 500,000 files of research in the social sciences, as well as discounted tuition to its many training opportunities.
Drexel University librarians will facilitate access to the ICPSR resources. In addition the University librarians are looking forward to engaging with ICPSR experts to work on resolving the emerging challenges of digital curation and data science here at Drexel. Please contact the Libraries through email@example.com for more information.
Established in 1962, ICPSR is an international consortium that provides leadership and training in data access, curation, and methods of analysis for the social science research community. In addition, ICPSR conducts research in a variety of areas related to digital archiving, including human subjects protection and disclosure risk, digital preservation, and effective practices across the research data life cycle.
The Office of Research has funded first year membership in ICPSR and with the Libraries will assess its value to support the University’s strategic objective of strengthening its research support.
