Drexel University Libraries provides access to hundreds of authoritative databases, over 40,000 eJournals, and over 300,000 eBooks in support of Drexel research and scholarship. These eResources are licensed to the Drexel University Libraries by publishers and other content providers, and the terms of our licenses limit access to these eResources to current students, staff and faculty at Drexel.

For those outside the Drexel community seeking access to authoritative research information, we recommend using the Open Access search option within DragonSearch, Drexel University Libraries’ research discovery tool. These Open Access resources are freely available and offer a wide variety of scholarly and trusted information on most research topics.

These links will automatically direct you to the Drexel Connect Authentication Page before you access these resources. As you search in Google Scholar and PubMed, you will have full-text access to articles through the links in the search results pages.

Check Before You Pay!

DO NOT PAY to access a resource. Old bookmarks saved in a browser may appear to connect to a resource but may not grant full, Drexel-licensed access. Before you pay for access, use the Libraries' A-Z lists, DragonSearch, or LibKey Nomad to determine if you have access through the Libraries.

Frequently asked questions

A Drexel University Libraries branded login screen appears when I try to access the Libraries licensed online resources (e.g. databases, ebooks, and ejournals), even when I am on campus. What do I do?

Click the yellow Sign in to Drexel Connect button that appears on the Libraries login screen. You must pass through this screen in order to gain access to the Libraries’ licensed online resources. If you experience issues while attempting to authenticate on this screen, contact libacc@drexel.edu.

I entered my Drexel University user ID and password but am still unable to access a resource.

Please check to make sure that you are typing your user name and password into a Drexel branded login screen. Your Drexel user ID and password will only work on a Drexel login screen (not, for example, when typed directly into a journal's website). If you are receiving an error message when entering your user name and password on the Drexel Libraries branded login screen, contact libacc@drexel.edu.

I need to access electronic resources outside of the Libraries, but my current status at Drexel does not permit this. What do I do?

Your access to the Libraries' resources is directly dependent on your relationship with Drexel University. If you feel your current status does not accurately reflect this relationship, please contact your direct departmental supervisor to discuss this matter. Libraries staff are not authorized to change your account.

Can I use Drexel's VPN to authenticate?

Accessing Drexel's VPN is not sufficient to access the Libraries' licensed online resources. You must authenticate through the Libraries login screen even while using VPN.

How do I get to the Drexel Libraries login screen?

You will be automatically redirected to the login page if you access the Libraries’ licensed online resources via the Libraries website. You will also be routed to this page if you click a secure, stable link to a Drexel Libraries licensed resource.

How can I save links to the journals and articles I use frequently?

Navigating to journals and articles via the Libraries Databases A-Z page will ensure that the links you save are secure and stable.

Is there a quicker way to access the Libraries' resources?

The quickest and most reliable way to access the Libraries' licensed electronic resources is by starting your search on the Libraries website or by saving stable links from the Libraries Libraries Databases A-Z page.

If I officially graduated but am completing thesis/dissertation-related projects, will I still have access?

Alumni are welcome to visit any of the Libraries’ physical locations, where staff can assist you with on-site access to electronic resources. Off-site access for students is restricted to those currently enrolled in classes. Please contact your adviser for more information.
