Libraries’ Emergency Preparedness Efforts Recognized by Drexel’s Department of Public Safety
On Wednesday, November 5, 2014, Ann Yurcaba was recognized at the annual awards ceremony hosted by the department of Public Safety’s Fire and Emergency Services Unit. There, she received the first annual Armour Floyd Award.
Floyd was the longtime director of the unit and the award recognizes individuals who support their emergency preparedness planning.
The award recognized the work that the Libraries staff has done to support public safety and emergency preparedness planning. Especially noted was the commitment of our BERT team, the volunteers that assisted with the Department’s active shooter simulation at W.W. Hagerty and the efforts required to create an Emergency Preparedness Playbook for the Libraries.
