Ringing in 2015 with better database searching and library guides

January 5, 2015

Welcome back!

We hope everyone has had a restful winter break; we certainly enjoyed ours. We're ringing in 2015 with a few new features on the Library Website, the most important of which is an improved version of our Databases. A lot of the feedback we received after our September launch of the new website highlighted problems with database searches, and this new version should address many of those concerns. You can once again search for databases from the front page of the main website: just select 'Databases' from the red dropdown in the main search form. Here's a screenshot:

In other news, we've also rolled out a new version of our Library Guides. The new guides are now much easier to use for those of you using smartphones and tablets. Next time you're in the library, try loading up one of the guides on your smartphone and take it into the stacks. You'll also note that the new guides use better fonts, and are easier to search.

We hope you find these new features helpful. If you need help using any of them, please contact one of our liaison librarians and they will be happy to help you.
