April 14, 2008

Drexel University Libraries recently added material to its collection that may be of interest to you based on your preferred search settings. You may view and request the material via the link(s) below.'
That's the default text of the weekly email YOU TOO can receive. Turn on this feature under the link for 'Check My Library Record' in the purple section of the Library website's front page.

Steps for creating a 'Preferred search' alert of new books at Drexel University Libraries

1.) Click the link for 'Check My Library Record' featured in the purple section of the Library website's front page. (continued)

2.) Log in using your DrexelOne ID/ pw

3.) Click on the 'Search' button - you are now ready to search the Library Catalog, but as a logged-in user (You'll know you are logged in because you will see your name at the top of the regular catalog search screen.)

4.) Enter your search keywords and hit the 'search' button. See the results? If you like them hit the grey 'Save your search' button to the right of the search terms you entered at the top of the page. Then hit the big blue button at the very top to 'Return to My Record.'

5.) Back at 'My Record' see your saved or 'Preferred searches' along the bottom of the page, accompanied by two checkboxes. Click the checkbox in the column titled 'Mark for Email' to have a weekly update sent to you of anything new added to the catalog for the previous week. Similarly, you may click the checkbox in the column titled 'Mark to Remove' to delete a search.

6.) Be the first one in your dorm to read that latest best-seller!

Keep an eye on that 'Check My Library Record' feature - we're adding more personalized services soon!

Enjoy!
