Printing and Copying Changes at the Libraries
Throughout the past year, the Libraries collected data about printing and scanning at all library sites – how often were printers used, what locations were the most popular and how much did it cost to keep the machines running. After a thorough review, the planning group determined that it was worthwhile to cut back on the number of machines at each location – removing four machines in total.
“Removing these targeted machines – and the money we will save through this process - will provide us an opportunity to pursue more popular technologies such as scanning or mobile printing,” the Libraries financial analyst Brian Kall says.
The four machines will be removed in March 2015 and were targeted because of their limited functionality, low usage and condition.
