Stanford University Libraries have created an introductory guide to Data Best Practices. This guide will walk you through the basics of data management: file naming, file formats, versioning, and creating metadata.

Census Health Data Workshop

The Census Bureau collects health insurance data using three national surveys: the Current Population Survey's Annual Social and Economic Supplement (CPS ASEC), the American Community Survey (ACS), the Survey of Income and Program Participation (SIPP) and one model based program, the Small Area Health Insurance Program (SAIPE). This workshop will provide a review of each of these programs with emphasis on the American Community Survey. Participants will have hands-on computer training on finding Census data using Census.gov and American FactFinder.

This workshop will be hosted by Noemi Mendez, a Data Dissemination Specialist at the U. S. Census Bureau.

In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn about the different types of data from the U.S. Census Bureau that can be used in grant writing. The class will cover the American Community Survey (ACS), the Decennial Census and how to access data from these programs from Census.gov and the American FactFinder.
This workshop will be hosted by Noemi Mendez, a Data Dissemination Specialist at the U. S. Census Bureau.
