Coming Soon: New Library System to Improve Research & Information Discovery

August 27, 2020

As part of its strategic initiatives to ensure access to authoritative information resources and strengthen the University’s connections to scholarship, the Drexel Libraries is updating its discovery system to Primo VE on September 9, 2020.

Once live, Primo VE will replace Summon as the search interface that connects the Drexel community to the print and electronic resources provided by Libraries. Primo VE and Summon share many common elements, and those comfortable searching Summon will be equally comfortable using Primo VE to find journals and more.

Primo VE offers even more intuitive ways to explore and retrieve content provided by the Libraries. Clients will notice a new, clean look and feel including, a new top navigation bar and advanced search options.

Other features include:

  • Enhanced personal account features, including options to create saved search and saved citations lists and set up new content alerts
  • New search options, including options to search by author and ‘recently added’ to help clients refine their queries
  • Integrated search of Drexel-generated research and theses and dissertations

Additional information will be announced over the coming weeks. Get a sneak peak through our brief tutorial or email us with questions or concerns.
