- Log in to Blackboard Learn using your Drexel user ID and password (without @drexel.edu)
- Navigate to the Courses page and select the course to which you would like to add a course reserves link.
- Hover over the + in the upper left-hand navigation bar. Select “Content Area.”
- Name your new content area. We recommend the name “Course Reserves.” Check the “Available to Users” box. Then click “Submit.”
- Open the new content area you created by clicking on the name in the left-hand navigation bar.
- On the Tools menu, select “ARES Course Reserves.”
- Name your new course reserves Link. We recommend “Course Reserves.” You can also add a one-line description.
- Be sure the “Permit Users to View Content” button is set to “Yes.” You may adjust the other options as needed.
- Click the blue “Submit” button.
Your new course reserves link is now available. You and your students can access course reserves materials and place requests through this link. To access the link, simply select “Course Reserves” in the left-hand navigation bar, then click on the link you created beside the bow and arrow icon.
Please note that the first time you click the new course reserves link, you will need to specify the term for that course. Simply choose the appropriate term from the drop-down menu, then click “Create Course”.
Now you can access the Instructor Course Tools, where you can place requests for reserve items and import items from previous courses.
- Log in to Blackboard Learn using your Drexel user ID and password (without @drexel.edu)
- Navigate to the Courses page, then select the course for which you would like to add reserve items.
- Select the content area for Course Reserves in your course (Note: The name of the content area may be different. If you are not sure where this content area is located, or you need help creating it, contact reserves@drexel.edu)
- Select the “Course Reserves” link next to the bow and arrow icon.
- Select the item type you wish to place on reserve by clicking the appropriate icon.
- Fill out the reserve request form. Required fields are marked with red asterisks, but keep in mind that the more information that you can provide, the easier it will be for Libraries staff to complete your requests in an accurate and timely manner.
- Choose how the material will be submitted.
- Submit your request.
Your request is complete! You can view the request you placed under the “Reserve Items” field. Status of the request will appear as “Awaiting Reserves Processing” or “Awaiting Review by Staff.” Reserves staff will evaluate and approve your request as quickly as possible.
